MS Dhoni had celebrated his 39th birthday earlier this month, and on this occasion, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya had paid him a surprise visit. Exactly two weeks later, Dhoni’s wife Sakshi shared a photo on Instagram from the celebration, which features the three Indian cricketers, among several other people. The candid photo shows Hardik lying on a sofa with others standing around him. Sharing the picture with his supporters, Sakshi wrote: “The happy team is missing!” Krunal’s wife, Pankhuri, also seen in the photo, responded to Sakshi’s post, using a red heart and tear of joy emoji face.
Hardik also shared the same photo on his Instagram story and wrote: “Miss you guys my gems.”
“Happy Birthday to my Bittu from your Chittu. My friend who taught me to be a better human being and supported me through tough times @msdhoni,” Hardik tweeted.
Dhoni is one of the nation’s most beloved cricketers, with a considerable fan following him. Still, despite this, he maintains a low profile on social media, and it’s hard to get a glimpse of him, especially more at a time when he didn’t play competitive cricket for over a year now.
That’s why, when Dhoni made a rare social media appearance last week, the video started trending across the internet on social media platforms, and fans started talking about her new look.
IPL-leading Dhoni franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also posted the video on Twitter and Instagram. “The much needed pawsitivity at 7! #Thala @msdhoni #WhistlePodu,” CSK captioned the video on Twitter.
Dhoni last played competitive cricket in July 2019 in the 2019 World Cup semi-final. Since then, his fans have been eagerly awaiting to see their favorite player return in action and do what he does. Better – crush four and six.
It looks like the fans’ over a year wait will end in a few months as BCCI plans to have a full-fledged IPL most likely in the UAE, using the September to November window after the postponement of this year’s T20 World Cup.
